Behold the magnificence of the Salford Carnival. You are cordially invited to the Salford Carnival - fully dressed out with aplomb at Islington Mill (M3 5HW). Set a date in your diaries for Thursday 1st March, 3pm till late.
Come see and then weep in admiration for the incredible work of our Graphic Design students.
Showtime Salford Carnival is a celebration of undergraduate and postgraduate work by Graphic Design students at the University of Salford.
There is so much to see and do. So much so that you may feel a little giddy and need a sit-down. If so you can sit down, be amused and befuddled in the ‘Curious Questions’ booth.
Immerse yourself in carnivalesque festivity.
Meet the students and browse the gallery of their fantastic work
Find out what your future holds through our Crystal Ball and Tarot card readings – who will you end up with? Was Jeremy Kyle really sent from the bowels of hell? Which robot will win Big Brother 3027? Will the Chuckle Brothers ever age?
Impress/scare your friends with photos alongside the Strong Men - see them juggle anvils and lift ship anchors over their heads!
Stare in cold fascination at the Amazing Bearded Lady (more hair than a thousand druids!)
Wheel Of Fortune – win prizes and see the dedicated hardwork of glamorous assistants turning blocks around to reveal letters.
Wall Of Wonder – not a small box or a cupboard but a whole wall of wonder! You know the Great Wall of China? Now imagine a Wall of Wonder. Trust me, you’ll stand in zombified awe at its majesty!
Mystic jpeg – rebooting Mystic Meg in a visually arresting way!
Juggling – chainsaws, babies, Black Mambas, Viking helmets – if it can be thrown in the air, they’ll juggle it!
Magic – how has he done that? Seriously, has he got a small lever up his sleeve? You won’t believe your eyes. You’ll stay awake in bed trying to work it out.
And finally try your hand at ‘Moustache Mayhem!’
Wear your fabulous fake moustache (enclosed in our goody bags); pretend you are a Victorian gent, a Dickensian character, a pipe-smoking aristocrat and many other hairy-lipped legends. Have your photo taken and emailed to Sophie Williamson.
